A new name, new partners, a premier stage
A fixture of the construction calendar since 1999, the awards - formerly the CEF Excellence Awards - evolve in 2026 to reflect the scale and ambition of today's built environment.
For the first time, CEF delivers the awards in partnership with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Mineral Products Association NI (MPANI) - uniting contractors, engineers and materials producers on a single platform.
The Awards night will return for their 27th year with a gala evening on Thursday 1st October 2026, with a new name - the NI Construction Awards and a new larger venue ICC Belfast - hosted by architect and television presenter George Clarke and presenter Claire McCollum.
In a first for Northern Ireland, CEF is joining forces with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and the Mineral Products Association (MPA) to deliver a unified, cross-sector celebration of the built environment bringing together contractors, engineers and materials producers.
This is more than a rebrand. It represents a new chapter for the awards and a broader collaboration across the industry.

Little Heroes, previously known as Helping Hand was established by the medical staff at the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children in 1997 with the single aim of helping the children in their care.
Little Heroes is an independent Charity which operates through a board of trustees and fundraises exclusively for “The Children’s Hospital”.
